22+ Audi S3 8P Ticking Noise. Car has a clicking / ticking noise that has gotten more aggressive in the last 2 days. The noise disappears when i rev the engine (even the tiniest bit).

What are the causes of engine ticking noise in your car. I pulled up to my friends house and immediately noticed a strange ticking noise coming from my hood. When there is a ticking noise in the engine and it concerns a particular component, then it will usually be a reciprocating component that is to blame and not a rotating component.

I got a ticking/ tapping noise.

As the flasher ticking noise is a fake generated noise as a comfort/reminder thing from the good old days when cars had relays rather than ecu's. Do you hear this ticking noise under v4 mode acceleration? I just bought a 2002 audi a4 quattro 3.0 and its making a loud ticking noise coming from under the hood some mechanics said it could be my oil but ijust recently got an oil change and the ticking is still there and some people are saying i either need new lifters or they need to be tightened. I know that vw lifters etc are louder than other cars.
